IOWA CITY, Iowa - The Iowa football team got a surprise commitment to its 2018 recruiting class on Monday.
West Haven, Conn. native Nico Ragaini received a scholarship offer from Iowa on Sunday and wasted no time in committing, as first reported by Rob Howe of Hawkeyenation.com.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Ragaini is the third receiver and 19th player overall to commit to Iowa's 2018 class.
All but two, Indianapolis natives D.J. Johnson and Julius Brents, have signed letters of intent to Iowa.
Iowa's two other receiver signees are Indianapolis native Tyrone Tracy and Largo, Fla. native Calvin Lockett.
Crystal Lake, Ill. native Samson Evans is also signed to the class and is projected to play either running back or receiver at Iowa.
Ragaini also had football bowl subdivision offers from Army and Boston College.
