Iowa men's basketball receives a commitment from 2019 3-star point guard Joe Touissant

IOWA CITY, Iowa - While the Iowa football team was defeating Iowa State on Saturday, the Iowa men's basketball team also recorded a key victory in recruiting.

New York City point guard Joe Touissant made a verbal commitment to Iowa on Saturday while on his official visit. The 5-foot-10 Touissant is ranked as a three-star prospect and is the second player to commit to Iowa's 2019 recruiting class, joining Iowa City West forward Patrick McCaffery.

Patrick McCaffery, who is the son of Iowa coach Fran McCaffery, also took his official visit to Iowa this weekend.

He and Touissant were among four recruits who made official visits to Iowa this weekend. They were joined by 2019 five-star forward Trayce Jackson-Davis and 2020 five-star forward Xavier Foster, who is from Oskaloosa.

Iowa is one of five schools that Jackson-Davis still is considering. His other finalists are UCLA, Indiana, Wake Forest and Michigan State.
