Three-star tight end Josiah Miamen commits to Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa - Three-star tight end Josiah Miamen wasted no time in deciding he wanted to be a Hawkeye after a visit over the weekend.

The Dunlap, Ill. native announced his commitment to Iowa on Sunday via Twitter.

"I really felt that I meshed well with the coaches and players, and trusted that the Iowa environment would be great in helping me progress as a man and a player," Miamen said.

Miamen got the opportunity to make a game day visit to Iowa on Saturday. The experience was one he won't forget soon.

"It was crazy," Miamen said. "The atmosphere was amazing."

Miamen chose Iowa over scholarship offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Kent State, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Penn State, Purdue, Vanderbilt, Western Michigan and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-4, 225-pound Miamen is the 15th player to commit to Iowa's 2019 recruiting class. He also is the second tight end, joining fellow Illinois native Logan Lee.
