IOWA CITY, Iowa - One of the top high school guards from the state of Minnesota has committed to the Iowa women’s basketball team.

Junior Lauren Jensen announced her commitment to Iowa Monday on Twitter.

“Super excited to announce my commitment to further my education and basketball career at the University of Iowa! Thank you to my family, friends, coaches, and all the programs that have recruited me over the past few years. Can’t wait to be a Hawkeye.”

The 5-foot-10 Jensen led Lakeville North High School to its fourth consecutive Minnesota Class 4A state tournament appearance. She already has more than 1,500 career points and scored at least 40 points in three games this past season.

Jensen also has made nearly 200 3-point baskets in high school, and is considered a combo guard.

Jensen is the third member of the junior class to commit to Iowa, joining Sharon Goodman (Crestwood High School) and Shateah Wetering (Montezuma).
