IOWA CITY, Iowa - Megan Gustafson's career with the WNBA's Dallas Wings is over before it even officially started.

The former Iowa All-America center and four-year starter was waived by Dallas on Wednesday after having averaged 2.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game through preseason contests with the Wings.

The 6-foot-3 Gustafson led the nation in scoring last season, averaging 27.9 points on 70 percent shooting and 13.5 rebounds per game last season and was named the AP Player of the Year. After the Wings drafted her in April, Wings President and General Manager Greg Bibb called picking her in the second round a steal.
