IOWA CITY, Iowa - Tim Polasek met with the media for almost 30 minutes on Tuesday and Iowa's third-year offensive line coach is pleased, but hardly satisfied with the progress being made during spring practice.
Polasek was asked a lot of questions about starting tackles Alaric Jackson and Tristan Wirfs, and about some of the younger linemen who could crack the rotation this coming season.
He praised Jackson and Wirfs, who have started 24 and 20 games, respectively, but also said they both need to improve, and that's what spring practice is all about.
Some of the Iowa players said Tuesday that they hope to average at least 4.5 yards per carrry as a team this coming season after having averaged just. 4.0 yards per carry last season.
Polasek also addressed that topic.
