IOWA CITY, Iowa – Four-star offensive lineman Connor McLaughlin took another look at the Iowa football team over the weekend.

McLaughlin, a 2020 prospect, said his most recent visit to Iowa allowed him to get to know some of his potential future teammates better.

“I loved seeing the players,” McLaughlin said. “They were great to be around and genuine outside of football too.”

McLaughlin, a native of Tampa, Fla., has received nearly 30 scholarship offers, but has two schools in particular that stand out the most to him.

“Iowa and Stanford are at the top of my list,” McLaughlin said.

Iowa’s humble, hard-nosed style is what has really caught the attention of the 6-foot-7, 260-pound McLaughlin.

“Iowa has a great vibe around it,” McLaughlin said. “With a relatively small city, there’s a hard work, Midwest mentality for the players. It’s all about being great and not taking the credit. Also, (strength and conditioning) coach (Chris) Doyle is the best in the business.”

McLaughlin said he would like to make his college choice before the end of the summer.

Iowa currently has 10 players committed to its 2020 recruiting class, including three-star offensive linemen Tyler Elsbury and Josh Volk.

Elsbury is a native of Byron, Ill. And Volk is a native of Cedar Rapids.

McLaughlin also has Power Five offers from Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Louisville, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern, Southern Cal, Syracuse, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Wake Forest and Washington State.
